Objective To investigate the abnormal autoimmunity in humoral immunity of lumbar disc herniation(LDH) on the animal. Methods An non-mechanical pressure lumbar disc herniation model was established on Sprague Dawley rat. The mechanical withdrawal thresholds of posterior limbs were measured. The immunoglobulin G and immunoglobulin M in peripheral blood were examined by turbidimetry. The presence and distribution of antigen-antibody complexes in nucleus pulposus were examined by immunohistochemical method. And the nerve root were observedby hematoxylin and eosin staining. Results After the model establishment, the mechanical withdrawal thresholds of posterior limbs were significantly reduced (P0.01),the peripheral IgG and IgM levels were by hematoxylin and eosin staining. Results After the model establishment, the mechanical withdrawal thresholds of posterior limbs were significantly reduced (P0.01),the peripheral IgG and IgM levels were elevated(P0.05). And there were positive presence of antigen-antibody complexes in the nucleus pulposus(P0.01)and obvious inflammatory lesion in the nerve root after model establishment. Conclusion There was abnormal autoimmunity in the lumbar disc herniation, which could be one of its pathogenesis.
