摘　　要：基于自建的小型语料库,将美国英语广播新闻和英国英语广播新闻中模糊限制语的出现频率进行对比,在此基础上分析了英美广播新闻语类中模糊限制语的使用特点及其功能,旨在帮助英语学习者更准确地理解和把握英语广播新闻。Hedges abound in English broadcasting news,including two types—approximators and shields.This paper makes a contrastive analysis of the distribution of hedges in the corpora of randomly selected VOA and BBC news,and discusses the features and functions of hedges in English broadcasting news,with an attempt to help English learners get better understanding of English broadcasting news.
