中美会晤的媒介镜像及成因——浅析《纽约时报》奥巴马访华报道

摘　　要：美国总统奥巴马于2009年11月15日-18日访华。本文分析了《纽约时报》在此期间以及前后各5天的相关报道,发现《纽约时报》中呈现的中国是一个经济上迅速崛起、但政治上铁板一块、缺乏人权和自由的国家,而奥巴马则因为表现软弱,不敢坚持美国的核心价值观而受到严厉批评,从而勾勒出一幅二元对立的镜像,并对此成因进行了分析和反思。American president Barack Obama visited China from Nov. 15-18 in 2009. This article analyzes the related coverage in The New York Times （NYT） from Nov. 10-23, and finds that the NYT outlined a picture of dualism by depicting China as a rapidly rising country on economy but stern and inflexible on politics, lacking human rights and press freedom; while criticizing Obama for his weakness of daring not to stick to American core values. Furthermore, this article also analyzes the reasons.
