Objective:To evaluate the influence of rehabilitation therapy on quality of life and pulmonary function in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods:Sixty stable patients that matched the criteria of COPD according to clinical guidelines were included. Each patient received conventional drug treatment and rehabilitation therapy(including breathing gymnastics,eight-section brocade, etc). The subjects completed the St George's Respiratory Questionnaire(SGRQ)and lung function measures before and after the therapy. Results:As compared to pre-therapy,both of FEV1 percent of predicted normal and FEV1/FVC were increased after treatment, especially FEV1 percent of predicted normal(P0.05).In the SGRQ score system, the first, second and total scores were related to FEV1 percent of predicted normal and FEV1/FVC according to Pearson's correlation before therapy, and the relationship between the scores and FEV1 percent of predicted normal was stronger. The differences in second section and total score were significant before and after therapy(P0.01).Conclusion:Rehabilitation therapy can improve not only quality of life but also pulmonary function in stable COPD patients.
