摘　　要：晚清担任法国驻福州领事的高乐待在福州任职近7年。其间参加了中法重建福州船政谈判并最终达成协议;游历了福州的名山大川;创作了以在福州的亲身经历为蓝本的戏剧作品;写下了影响一代法国人的散文诗集《认识东方》。福州是他心中的理想家园。本文从介绍高乐待在福州的生活和外交活动入手,探讨福州成为他心目中精神家园的思想、文化及历史根源。Paul Claudel, the Consul of French at Fuzhou in late-Qing period, served there for about seven years. During his service at Fuzhou, he took part in the negotiation for rebuilding the Sino-French Ship Bureau （in French： Arsenal de Fuzhou）. He travelled a lot in Fuzhou, wrote plays based on his own experience, and finished the anthology of poetic prose which influenced a whole generation of Frenchmen, Connaissance de l＇Est. Fuzhou became his spiritual home. This article will introduce his life as well as diplomatic activities in Fuzhou, and analyze spiritual, cultural and historical roots for this phenomenon.
