摘　　要：张学良自幼接受的是中国传统文化教育,到青年时开始接触西方文化,他自己认为受西方文化影响较大。晚年在接受访者访问时,他谈到了传统文化,认为是宋儒理学阻碍了中国科学技术的发展。在谈到人生的意义时,强调人要有理想信仰,没有理想信仰就没有根。在谈到做人做事时,他说要尽力想到他人,要凭良心。在谈到他追随蒋介石"剿共"时,他说国民党不能战胜共产党的根本原因,在于民心的向背。在谈到他在囚禁期间研究明史问题时,他说是想通过研究明清历史,探索中国由盛转衰的原因。Peter H.L.Chang was educated with China＇s traditional culture in his childhood and then he was brought into contact with western culture in his youth.He supposed that the western culture affected him greater in his latter years when he gave interviews with reporters.With respect to China＇s traditional culture,he believed that the moral theories of the Neo-Confucian scholars during the Song dynasty hindered the sci-tech development in China.He emphasized that the dream and conviction are necessary to everyone in regard to the philosophy of life,and no root you could find out for yourself without dream and conviction.＂Think of other people＇s interests as possible,and you shall be quite fair in your words and deeds＂,he said.Remembering the historical period when he followed the commands of Chiang Kai-Shik to exterminate Chinese Communists,he pointed out that the root cause of why KMT was defeated by CPC was that the former lost the loyalty of the people.He studied the history of the Ming dynasty when he was imprisoned by Chiang.The reason why he did so was,as what he explained,to explore the historical fact that China became weak from strong via studying the history of the Ming and Qing dynasties.
