摘　　要：维护读者权利是图书馆的基本服务原则。百年来我国图书馆人对其认识历经四个阶段,每个历史阶段有其不同的认识表现。学习《图书馆服务宣言》,梳理读者权利理念的历史链条,对推动事业发展有着深远的意义。Safeguarding the rights of reader is the basic principle of library service. Chinese library＇s historical understanding of the principle has gone through four stages, which have their different reasons respectively. It is vital to Chinese library＇s development to study Library Service Manifesto and sum up the historical thinking of safeguarding the rights of reader.
