摘　　要：空间数据库引擎是空间数据库系统的核心部件。本文探讨了空间数据库引擎的概念、作用和特点，分析了空间数据库引擎现状，归纳出空间数据库引擎应具备的功能，总结了研制空间数据库引擎需要突破的关键技术。这些分析对于实现高性能空间数据库引擎具有参考意义。Spatial database engine is the core component of a spatial database system. Firstly, the concepts, roles and characteristics of spatial database engine are discussed in this paper. Secondly, the status of spatial database engine is analyzed, and the functions that a spatial database engine should have are concluded. Finally, the key technologies needed to break through are summed up. These analyses will be valuable for implementing a high performance spatial database system.
