摘　　要：The first Marriage Law of the People＇s Republic of China was promulgated on May 1, 1950, and it took immediate effect. It was the first law promulgated by New China, and it was a basic law that initiated national reform in the areas of marriage and family. Six decades have passed since China＇s Marriage Law entered into force. Since then, the Law has been revised twice, in 1980 and 2001, and each revision reflected China＇s social progress.1950年公布施行的《中华人民共和国婚姻法》不仅是新中国颁布的第一部法律，同时也是与每一个中国人的婚姻家庭关系都息息相关的一部基本法律。从1950的制定和颁布．到1980年和2001年的两次修改，《婚姻法》至今已在中国走过了60年的历程。而它的每一次制定和修改，可以说都是中国社会文明、宽容和进步的体现。
