摘　　要：该文提出了一种地球物理勘探地图数据库GEMDB（GeophysicalExplorationMapDatabase）应用系统的系统设计与实现方案。该系统使用广义关系数据模式，定长数据类型存储地图属性信息，变长数据类型存储地图的图形信息，以实现地图图件的管理、检索与更新操作。基于固定网格空间划分和面向类对象的四分树空间索引技术，有效地实现了图形对象的地图编辑；自描述数据结构SDS（Self－DescriptiveStructure）的设计使工程应用图件的表达和生成更加方便。This paper presents a system scheme based on extended relation data mode for GEMDB(Geophysical Exploration Map Database). Using extended relation data mode, the fixed-sized data types are used to store map attributes. and to manage, retrieve, update maps, while the variable-sized data type is emploied to keep the graphicinformation of maps. Using self-descriptive structure and quadtree spatial index technique hased on fixed-grids andclass objects oriented, it is effective to carry out graphical object editing of a map and to produce engineering application maps. The system has been developed under the UNIX operating system and Motif environment.
