摘　　要：随着计算机应用的发展,各种特殊目的的语言也应运而生,如高级语言、非过程性语言、数据库查询语言、面向对象语言等等,而且各自都引发了计算机应用的新一轮高潮。随着Internet和WWW的蓬勃发展,标记语言以其自身的特点,提供了信息共享的特殊便利,而得到应有的重视。本文简要介绍了与WWW相关的几种语言SGML、HTML、XML、VRML的历史和特点。The development of computer languages has a close relationship with the development of computer applications. The markup languages with the facilities of sharing information are prompted rapidly by the extension of WWW application. A brief introduction to the history and the characters of several markup languages relating to WWW, namely SGML, HTML, XML and VRML,are presented. The advantages and the disadvantages of these languages are analyzed with usability and complexity. The future of the development of markup languages is discussed.
