摘　　要：语言禁忌的研究一直以来比较侧重于定义、特征、分类以及在英汉两种语言的异同性等定性研究,而定量研究很少。从语境的角度出发,针对语言禁忌中"话题禁忌"对英语本族语者展开问卷调查,调查结果显示判断年龄、体重、个人收入以及婚姻状况等个人话题在交际中是否可以涉及,需要看交际时涉及到的不同层面的语境因素而定。The research on verbal taboos,relatively speaking,used to focus on qualitative study,such as definition,characteristics,classification,and the similarity and divergence in English and Chinese rather than quantitative study.This paper verges on the context,which reports an analysis of the information concerning the problem of ＂taboo topics＂ from a questionnaire administered to some native English speakers from different English speaking countries.The results indicate that whether the personal topics,such as age,weight,income and marital status,can be talked about or not depends on the various contextual factors.
