摘　　要：１９９８ 年５ 月２９ 日皮山县发生６．２ 级地震。震中距皮山县城约３９ ｋｍ ，震源深度为３２ ｋｍ 。烈度分布区为北西－ 南东走向的椭圆形，极震区烈度为Ⅶ度，个别点为Ⅷ度。地震使皮山县县城、９ 个乡、２ 个镇、２ 个农场，墨玉县部分地区遭到不同程度的损失。共计受伤人数为２６ 人，其中重伤为２人，无家可归者人数为５ ５６６ 人，１ ３９２ 户；牲畜死亡４ ４５４ 头（只）。地震造成的直接经济损失达５４８６．７５A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck Pishan county on May 29,1998.The epicenter was about 39 km from Pishan county town,and the corresponding hypocentral depth was 32 km.The intensity regions were ovals striking NW SE in shape.Intensity Ⅶ effects were experienced at extremely seismic region,and intensity Ⅷ effects were noted at one or two points.The quake caused losses of various degrees in Pishan county and Moyu county. Twenty six people were injured,2 of them were injured heavily,and about 5 566 people,1 392 families were left homeless.4 454 heads of livestock were killed.The event caused direct economic loss at 54.867 5 million yuan.
