摘　　要：新艺术运动是艺术设计从古典走向现代的重要一环,在现代设计长河中发挥着承上启下的作用。它在对人与自然和谐相处的向往、对民族性和地域性的强调、多元文化的继承、内容的朦胧性和多义性等层面上展示了与当代艺术设计相吻合的特征;在对艺术设计传承和艺术设计创新两个方面对当代艺术设计产生了深远影响。Art Nouveau is a major step for art design to develop from traditional to modern stage, which serves a connecting link between the preceding and following development stages. Art nouveau and contemporary art share some important characteristics such as in the harmonious relation between man and nature, the emphasis on nationality and regionalism, the inheritance of multi-culture,the content obscurity and polysemy. Art Nouveau has produced great influence on contemporary art design mainly in inheritance of traditional art design and innovation.
