摘　　要：美国教育统计中心的调查报告《Academic Libraries》及网络调查的结果表明:相比国内同类型大学,美国研究型大学图书馆的公共服务在对象、时间、服务内容、服务方式和人员方面有独特之处,其成功经验包括强化对科研的支持、重视学科服务、实行全方位开放与合作及无处不在的人性化服务等。受它们的启发,国内研究型大学图书馆有必要扎实做好基础服务工作、拓展为科研服务的广度和深度、保障工作人员素质并建立广泛的图书馆联盟。The National Center for Education Statistics report Academic Libraries and the network survey results indicate that the public services of research university libraries in USA are distinctive.Their users, open hours, services, means of service and staff are different from those of similar libraries in China.They are successful in full support to researching, pay attention to academic services, all-round opening and cooperation, and humanization.Inspired by their experience, research university libraries in China feel the urge to provide basic services, expand the breadth and depth of information services for research, guarantee high-quality of staff, and establish extensive cooperation of libraries.
