摘　　要：VOA是美国政府支持的新闻广播机构，因此它的社论广播会不可避免地受到来自美国政府的影响.本文通过运用批评语言学、系统功能语法和实证的研究方法，对VOA英文“倒萨”社论进行了分析，试图揭示出这些来自美国政府的影响是怎样在VOA社论上得到体现的。VOA is an American government backed broadcasting institution. Therefore, its editorial coverage in English can hardly avoid the influence from its supporter. Through analyzing those ＂down Saddam editorials＂ broadcast on VOA with the help of approaches of critical linguistics, systemic functional grammar as well as empirical analysis, this paper is trying to show how the influence was reflected in the editorials.
