摘　　要：《兔子歇了》是当代美国作家约翰·厄普代克"兔子"四部曲的终曲。小说描述了老年兔子的种种困惑,兔子一如既往地以逃跑对传统社会和各种冲突提出反抗,在精神荒原上苦苦挣扎,最后选择死亡。在这部作品中,作者向读者展示的是现代人的精神困境,芸芸众生的生活轨迹。Rabbit At Rest is the last of the Rabbit Tetralogy written by John Updike,the famous American contemporary writer.The novel depicts the various confusions of old Rabbit.Consistently,Rabbit protests against the traditional society and different conflicts by running away from home.He painstakingly pursues his soul on the spiritual wasteland and finally he chooses to die.In this novel,the author reveals the sterile spirit of American people and the life＇s journey of the ordinary people.
