摘　　要：《小城畸人》以一个男孩乔治·威拉德的成长为主要线索将二十个故事串联起来,安德森不仅通过其他人的故事来讲述这个男孩的成长,更在五个以这个男孩为中心人物的故事中勾勒他的成长轨迹。作者通过讲述乔治同四位女性的情爱关系揭示了他在情爱中跨越青春走向成熟的历程。本文在细读文本的基础上借用杰罗姆·巴克利对成长小说的著名界定将乔治同女性的情爱关系分为"粗俗沉沦"型和"激越飞扬"型,从而指出作为成长小说的《小城畸人》讲述的是主人公乔治在情爱中的成长故事。Winesburg,Ohio collects more than 20 short stories which narrate George Willard＇s growth.Anderson not only tells the story of the boy by telling the stories of other people,but also sketches the traces of his growth in the five short stories with George as protagonist.Anderson reveals George＇s progress from youth to maturity by narrating his relationship of sex and love with four women.Based on a close reading of the text,the present paper divides the relationships between George and the four women into two types：＂debasing＂sexual encounters and ＂exalting＂love affairs,by borrowing Jerome Buckley＇s famous definition of Bildungsroman,and concludes that as a Bildungsroman Winesburg,Ohio tells the story of George＇s growth in love.
