摘　　要：2009年1月9日上午10时,在中国北京人民大会堂,由中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席胡锦涛将2008年度国家最高科学技术奖之一授予首都医科大学神经外科学院院长、附属北京天坛医院名誉院长、北京市神经外科研究所所长王忠诚院士,以表彰他在神经外科领域所做出的杰出贡献。本文简要介绍王忠诚院士的经历、主要贡献及其意义。At 10：00 on January 9, 2009, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, capital of China, in view of commend his predominant contributions to the diagnosis, treatment, scientific research and training of competent personnel for neurosurgery, Hu Jintao, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the PRC and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, ceremoniously granted the 2008 State Supreme Science and Technology Award to Academician Wang Zhongcheng, who is Director of Beijing Neurosurgical Institute, Dean of Neurosurgical School of Capital Medical University, Honorary Director of Beijing Tian Tan Hospital. This article provides an overview of Academician Wang Zhongcheng＇s resume, chief contributions and its significance.
