Purpose To explore the application of low dose CT scan in pneumoperitoneal visualization with 64-row multi-slice CT scanner.Materials and Methods 56 consecutive patients who underwent CT scans after pneumoperitoneal visualization were divided into conventional group(C group)and low dose group(L group)with 28 patients in each group.Standard scan technique was used in C group and low dose CT scan was employed in L group.Image quality, volume CT dose index(CTDIvoI)in the two groups were evaluated.Statistical difference of image quality and the CTDIvoI between the two groups was determined by using t-test with the spss10.0 software.P〈0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results The mean value of image quality score was 2.62±0.54,2.48±0.57 respectively. There was no significant difference between the two groups(P〉 0.05).However;the average CTDIvoI in C group and L group was(24.89±2.38)mGy/cm,(1.59±0.82)mGy/cm respectively. The CTDIvoI in L group were lower than those in C group(P〈0.01).Conclusions Low dose CT scan in pneumoperitoneal visualization could not only reduce radiation dose to the patient, but also meet the requirement of the diagnosis.
