摘 要:设计了一种C波段谐振式相对论返波振荡器,分析了其结构特点和工作的物理机制。利用粒子模拟方法研究了器件的工作特性,发现插入段长度和反射器半径的选取对该类器件的效率非常关键;在二极管电压为0.5~1.0 MV范围内,所设计的器件的效率为20%~25%,频率保持在4.25 GHz附近。结合对器件实际高频结构的电动力学特性分析,重点研究了纵向谐振模式、品质因数等特点,结果表明该器件工作在2π/5模、品质因数约为100时功率效率最高。在此基础上,解释了谐振式相对论返波振荡器具有适用的电子束范围宽、频率稳定等特点的原因,并对该类器件的相关设计原则进行了分析验证。A C-band resonant relativistic backward-wave oscillator(RBWO) is designed,and its structure feature and operation mechanism are analyzed.Operation characteristics of the designed device were investigated by particle-in-cell(PIC) simulation.Simulation results indicate that both the length of the insert and the radius of the reflector influence the power efficiency of the device.With the diode voltage ranging from 500 kV to 1 MV,the efficiency of designed device remains 20%~25%,while the generated microwave frequency keeps around 4.25 GHz.Furthermore,according to the analysis on the electrodynamics characteristics of the device,the longitudinal resonant modes and corresponding quality factors are studied with emphasis,which reveals that the device has a high efficiency with operation mode of 2π/5 mode and quality factor of about 100.The research results explain the reasons of the resonant RBWO possessing features of adopting to wide electron beam energy range and stable radiation frequency,and verify the general design principle of this kind of device.
