摘 要:研究了一种新型体三维显示系统。利用数字微镜设备(DMD)作为高速空间光调制器(SLM),将三维物体的面片模型经过体素化而获得的螺旋切片序列投射到旋转螺旋屏上,基于视觉暂留效应,按时序高速变化的切片序列被人眼感知为具有真实物理深度的三维图像。重点阐述了基于旋转螺旋屏的成像空间构成方法,分析了基于体立方(BCC)采样策略的体素化方法,设计了针对二值切片图像的DMD控制算法。实验结果表明,BCC采样策略减少了40%以上的体显示数据,DMD的高速响应能力使得原理样机较基于振镜的设计更具显示复杂物体的能力,在500mm×250mm的半圆柱形成像空间内显示的三维图像可以选择任意视点直接观看。A novel volumetric 3D display system is presented. A series of helical slices ofa 3D model is projected onto a spinning helical screen through a Digital Micro-mirror Device (DMD) as a fast Space Light Modulator (SLM). Due to the persistence of vision, human observers are able to perceive a true 3D volumetric image with physical depth cue by fusing together the successive helical slices into a 3D image. We emphasize the method for constructing a true 3D space using a spinning helical screen, analyze the volexlization approach based on Body-center Cubic (BCC) strategy, and design an algorithm to control DMD for projecting binary slices. Experimental results demonstrate that, a data reduction more than 40% is achieved by utilizing BCC sampling strategy, and the prototype is capable of displaying more complicated objects using DMD with μs-leveled response time, compared with the mirror-laser scheme. Objects can be displayed with true three dimensions and a fresh rate of 16 Hz in a half-cylinder display space with a diameter of 500 mm and a height of 250 mm, and can be viewed from almost any angle without any special viewing aids.
