摘　　要：多元现代性是一种与传统现代性理论相左的现代性理论,其核心在于强调不同历史文化在现代性建构中的作用。所谓多元现代性,实质上就是不同的历史文化作用于自身现代性的建构并产生不同于西方的现代性文明模式。多元现代性理论不仅重新阐发了文化与现代性结构维度之间的关系,同时对现代性本身也作了重新解释,因而拒斥了只存在单一的现代性、现代性就是西方化的神话。多元现代性理论对中国特色社会主义的现代性建构具有重要的启示作用。Multi-modernity, a modernity theory different from the traditional ones, focuses on emphasizing the role of different historical cultures in the construction of modernity. The so-called multi-modernity is, in essence, a modern civilization model produced when different histories and cultures exert their impact on the self modernity construction but differs from the western models. Multi-modernity theory not only reelucidates the relationship between culture and the structural dimensions of modernity but also re-interprets modernity itself. Thus, it shatters the myth that there is but unitary modernity and that modernity is but westernization. The multi-modernity theory provides crucial inspiration to the construction of socialist modernity with Chinese characteristics.
