摘 要:本文探讨Halliday提出的社会符号学的适用性特点及其不同于Saussure和Peirce符号学的方面。本文首先从资源、变化、原则和功能四个方面探讨社会符号学的适用性,并指出其作为适用符号学的六大特点:社会性、系统性、可用性、跨学科性、动态性、多模态性。在社会语境中对社会符号学系统的选择的结果是多模态话语,其研究范围包括以下三个方面:话语、体裁、风格。最后,我们讨论了适用符号学理论和实践之间的关系,设计出了一个适用社会符号学的综合理论框架。In contrast to general semiotics,social semiotics focuses on parole and the application of semiotic theories to other fields.The present article first shows its features different from the Saussurian and Peircian semiotics.Then it shows that,as appliable semiotics,it works in terms of the following four aspects:resources for social interactions,liability to change along with the change of contexts,following certain semiotic principles,and performing three metafunctions:ideational,interpersonal and interactional.The paper describes six features which characterize it as appliable semiotics:social in nature,systemic for meaning-making,practical in orientation,cross-disciplinery,variable and changeable,and multimodal.The result of choices from social semiotics in social contexts is multimodal discourse,whose areas of research include the following three aspects:discourse and social practice,genre,and style.Finally,it discusses the relationship between theory and practice in social semiotics and proposes a relatively comprehensive theoretical framework for social semiotics as appliable semiotics.
