摘　　要：如何认识重化工业与中国中西部地区的关系,目前来说是一个重要的经济理论与发展实际问题。如果从中国西部地区工业化的发育阶段的实际出发看问题,西部重化工业发展是中国经济调整结构的客观要求;西部地区存在着发展现代重化工业的比较优势与挑战;我们应该抓住国家调整产业结构的机遇,加快西部地区现代重化工业的发展。To acknowledge how the heavy and chemical industries are related with central and western China is so far an important realistic economic and developmental issue.In terms of its actual development stages,the further development of the heavy and chemical industries in western China is the objective requirement from China＇s economic structural adjustment.There are their privileges and challenges in the western regions.For us,it is necessary to grasp the opportunity and make accelerated process of western district＇s modern heavy industry.
