摘　　要：论述了地理信息系统产生与发展，从分析系统的技术特点入手，揭示了其发展与应用的密切关系，进一步指出了地理信息系统的应用潜力与发展方向。The paper deals with GIS in terms of its occurrence and development, and on the base of analysis for its charactristics, close relationship between the development and application of GIS is also involved here. Furthermore, we put forward the potential of GIS application and tendency of GIS.
