摘　　要：What was the ideal lifestyle for Beijingers in the old days? Most Beijingers longed for happiness—shared with three or four generations of their families—in their siheyuan(quadrangle courtyard that hid them from the world).A siheyuan is like a magic "box" that contains the most-traditional cultural elements of Beijing and the most-typical traits of Beijingers’ lifestyles. Today,though,the siheyuan is not only a residence for the locals,it is a wonderland for visitors,from around the world,to touch,taste and feel with their hearts.一家老小在四合院里其乐融融地生活，曾是旧时北京人最为熟悉的画面，老北京的四合院宛若一个神奇的“盒子”，将最传统的京味文化，最地道的百姓生活——包容其中，如今的四合院，虽没了旧时的韵味，却添了新的风情，这里不仅是北京人的家园，也成了外国游客流连忘返的天地……
