摘  要:Lifetime measurement of the nuclear excited states provides a important insight into the nuclear structure study.Many different methods have been devised for different lifetime.Plunger is a apparatusLifetime measurement of the nuclear excited states provides a important insight into the nuclear structure study. Many different methods have been devised for different lifetime. Plunger is a apparatus to measure the lifetime between 10^-9 s and 10^-12 S. The apparatus (Fig. 1) which utilizes the recoil distance method (RDM) has been constructed in CIAE. In this method the recoil nuclei, produced by the beam in a very thin target, are flying in alterable distances and finally stopped in a sheet of heavy material.
