摘 要:莫高窟第401窟是隋代第三期洞窟,主室四壁下部与西壁正龛内初唐绘制了31身菩萨立像。作者在实地考察的基础上,结合敦煌文献与现存佛教文献的记载,认为这些菩萨群像可能是根据《大通方广经》绘制的,主要表达了忏悔的意涵。这类菩萨群像出现在隋末唐初,并对以后的壁画题材产生了一定的影响。Cave 401 Mogao Grottoes dating from the third phase of the Sui Dynasty.There were 31 standing Bodhisattvas were painted by the early Tang dynasty on the lower part of four walls and as screen-painting inside of the niche western side wall.Based a thoroughly investigation in-situ and references on Dunhuang Manusripts and Buddhist Sūtra,this article took for granted that these standing Bodhisattvas images were adopted from Sūtra of the Universal Ornament of Attaining Buddhahoodto expression of repentance.The illustrations to Sūtra of the Universal Ornament of Attaining Buddhahood appeared at later Sui Dynasty and the early Tang Dynasty and had great influences to the latter Dunhuang art.
