摘　　要：英国古典经济学家对世界市场和自由贸易理论的形成和发展有着重要的影响。按照他们的观点,在自由贸易的条件下,一些前殖民地或半殖民地的确能够通过市场经济获得各自的经济利益。然而,我们也应充分地认识到,从全球经济发展角度看,英国古典经济学家所提出的这些理论虽然在原则上是正确的,但由于出现了一些他们未能预见的其他因素,结果并未达到预期的目的。因此,只有正确认识自身的发展特点以及相关优势,确立本国经济发展的正确道路,才是能够促进这些前殖民地国家和地区摆脱贫困的正确途径。British classical economists played an important role in the making and development of theories on the world market and free trade.According to their arguments,some pre-colonies or semi-colonies would be able to achieve economic interests by promoting a market economy within a free trade context.Nonetheless,we ought to be fully aware that,although these contentions sounded basically correct from the perspective upon global economic development,what subsequently occurred failed to meet the abovementioned anticipations due to certain unforeseen factors.Therefore,it proved to be highly essential for these pre-colonial countries and regions to eliminate poverty and to determine the most suitable approach to their respective economic development by surveying their characters and comparative advantage.
