摘　　要：论述了爱尔兰著名诗人谢默斯·希尼20世纪70年代末出版的诗集《田间劳作》。分析了西方文学传统和爱尔兰国内复杂斗争对这部诗集的影响,及这部诗集的多篇诗歌表达了希尼在创作过程中遭遇的艺术与生活关系的矛盾,诗集中有他对诗人的诗学责任和社会责任的思考,以及他最终找到的解决之道——"艺术的终极是和平",可以说希尼在一定程度上实现了对两者的忠诚。Seamus·Heaney,the famous Irish poet,published his Field Work（1979） at the end of 1970s.As a poet deeply rooted in western literature tradition,Heaney,facing the complicate and complex Irish reality,in most of his poems depicts his dilemma in creative writing—be truthful to art or life.In his poems,Heaney considers poet＇s artistic and social responsibility,and finally tries his best to reach a solution— ＂The end of art is peace＂;so to certain extent Heaney realizes his faith to both.
