历史还魂,时代回眸——析德拉布尔《红王妃》的跨时空叙事

摘　　要：历史题材拟写是当代英国文学的核心主题之一,双重时空的设置也不鲜见。与众不同的是,德拉布尔在《红王妃》中启用一个亡灵叙述者以第一人称展开回顾性叙事。这种亡灵忆往视角在叙述话语上超越了常规叙事的固定模式,打破了叙事主体的时空局限,使作家在实施文本叙事时拥有了宏阔的观察视野和充分的叙述自由,成为一种独特的历史观照方式。由此,女作家充分行使小说家独享的虚构特权,在今生与往世、现实与历史、西方与东方之间,实施了多重时空跨越,进行超越时代、地域和文化的历史对话和精神交流。这种独特的跨时空叙事在个体生命的叙说中抽绎出人类共有的心理本原,增添了作品的历史底蕴,体现了作者的人文情怀。Historical writing is one of the major themes in contemporary English literature,and it is usually set with double plots.But what is special with Drabble is that she initiates a retrospective narration of the past by aghost narrator in the first person.The perspective of the ghost violates the established narrative patterns,and frees the narrator from time and space limitation.This endows the author with broad perspective and free narration of her tale.With such an authority of fiction,the narrator travels through multiple times and spaces,between this life and the last one,reality and history,the west and the east,carrying out a historical dialogue and spiritual communication between different ages,regions and cultures.In the unique narrative across time and space,the author manages to reveal universal human characteristics,to enrich the historical significance of the novel,and to assert her own ideal of humanism.
