摘　　要：在运行长达40多年的GATT和现已运行近3年的WTO中，发展中国家为争取得到体现公平原则的差别和更优惠待遇付出了艰辛的努力，发展中国家的地位和作用也日益得到了加强，但所面临的问题也不容忽视。客观地分析WTO体制下发展中国家的差别和更优惠待遇所面临的挑战，不但对发展中国家今后坚持权利与平衡的原则具有重要的现实意义，而且对我国以发展中国家身份加入WTO也具有较深刻的借鉴意义。Over more than forty years' operations of GATT and nearly three years' operations of WTO, developing countries have exerted painful efforts to struggle for a fair difference and favorable treatment. The status and function of developing countries have been gradually strengthened. But the problems existing are never to be neglected. lt will not only be most important for developing countries to insist for balance between rights and obligations but also beneficial to China as a developing country to enter WTO, if the dfference between developing countries and challenges for more favorable treatment are objectively analyzed.
