摘　　要：指出了目前国内外教科书对价值工程基本概念定义中存在的问题和矛盾,在现有价值工程概念的基础上提出了自己的观点并进行了论证,对价值工程的概念和目的赋予了新的涵义并进行了重新定义,丰富了价值工程概念的内涵,拓展了价值工程的外延,为指导价值工程理论在大型复杂工程中的应用,落实科学发展观,构建资源节约型社会都具有重要的意义。This paper considered the current reality and analysed the essence of the concept of value engineering, pointing out the defects of the current contradictions that existed in the documents published on domestic and overseas. And then it proposed some personal views and demonstrated them on the basis of the existing concept, after that it also redefined the concept and purpose of value engineering, and explored the ways of value engineering theoretically. So it is of great significance to the application of value engineering in the large and complex project and the realization is also important for the scientific development and the construction of a harmonious society.
