Objective To detect the role of endogenous opioid peptides of rostral ventrolateral medulla(rVLM) in the protective effect of Shuangguyitong electroacupuncture on rabbit′s acute myocardial ischemia. Methods On the base of the protective effect of Shuangguyitong electroacupuncture on acute myocardial ischemia model in rabbits, electrocardiography(ECG) and myocardial ultrastructures of rabbit′s ischemic myocardial cell after microinjection naloxone into rVLM were observed. Results Microinjection naloxone into rVLM had no influence to normal rabbit′s myocardial function and myocardial ultrastructures and little influence to ischemic myocardial function.Shuangguyitong electroacupuncture had significant protective effect on acute ischemic myocardium in rabbits.Shuangguyitong electroacupuncture could markedly promote recovery of ST segment(P0.05)and obviously reduce the degree of ischemic myocardium injury. The protective effect could be weakened by microinjection with naloxone in rVLM(P0.05),but couldn′t be completely blocked. Conclusions The effect of Shuangguyitong electroacupuncture in ameliorating acute myocardium ischemia in rabbits is mediated by opioid receptors in rVLM.
