摘　　要：地理信息系统(GIS)是为地理研究、综合评价、管理、定量分析、决策而建立的计算机应用系统。GIS已被广泛应用于医疗和公共卫生领域,为疾病监测、环境健康和危险因素分析、公共卫生资源计划和配置以及社区医疗保健控制等方面服务。本文综述GIS研究进展及其在医疗和公共卫生领域中的应用。Geographic information system（GIS） is a computer application system which is set for the geographic research,general assessment,management,quantitative analysis and decision-making.It has been used extensively in the medical and public health area,including serving for the disease detection,the analysis on the advantage and disadvantage factor of the environment,the plan and collocation on the public health resource,and the control of the community medical care and health care as well.The article made a summary on the progress and its application in the medical and public health area.
