摘　　要：随着当代城市设计实践的不断发展,理解城市空间变得越来越重要。城市空间调研作为以理解城市空间为目标的专业实践,需要清晰明确的方法论指导。遵循从认识论到方法论的经典研究路线,呼应于当今城市空间研究成果,以建立城市空间的"文本观",并将"阅读文本"的思路引入,演绎形成了"描述空间形态层→评价生活效能层→阐释发展意向层"这一阅读理解城市空间的基本思路,作为指导城市空间调研的方法论基础。Urban design practices increasingly require the understanding of urban spaces. Professional urban space survey needs to be dependent on clear and definite methodology. The paper introduces a new graduated approach of reading text in studing urban spaces： the description of spatial form-the evaluation of urban life impacts-the formulatin of future visions.
