This paper studies the vertical distribution and regional difference of the eumolpid species within Fujian Province, China. As a site closely studied,Mt. Wuyi(northwest Fujian) can generally be divided into three vertical zones in viewpoint of how high the eumolpid species distribute and how frequently the species come out at different elevations. The zonation is as: below 350m above sea level; from 350 to 1200m above sea level, higher than 1200m above sea level; of them the middle zone is the most abundant one with eumolpid species. In comparison of Mt.Wuyi and Mt.Daiyun(in about the center of Fujian), the species distributions tend to move upwards in the latter. The factors that cause this difference are proposed to be the local climatic character and the vertical zonation of vegetation. The eumolpid fauna of Fujian is mainly composed of the species living in evergreen broad leaved forest and some other species in farmland, shrubland and meadow. Based on the analyses of species distribution within Fujian, especially computing and clustering faunal resemblance (R), the author tentatively suggests that Fujian Province would be divided into 5 zoogeographical states, belonging respectively to the Central China and the South China Region of the zoogeographical system.
