摘　　要：美国后现代派作家托马斯.品钦晚期作品《葡萄园》中女忍者在小说中意义非比寻常。忍者作为日本传统文化的精粹,是品钦试图为坍塌的西方文明从东方文明中寻找精神家园重塑社会体系的佐证之一。身有瑕疵的女忍者迫于时代的变迁已变身为区别于传统忍者的新型忍者重新服务人群和社会,从而成为作者选定的维护社会秩序的战士。The meaning of the female ninja in Vineland, one of the postmodern writer Thomas Pynchon＇s later works, is positive. The ninja, as the essence of Japanese traditional culture, is one of the proofs that Pynchon tries to find the spiritual homeland from the oriental civilization and rebuild the social system for the western civilization in crisis. The imperfect female ninja has changed to a new image which is different from the traditional ninja to serve the people and the society with the changes of the times, so she at last becomes the soldier chosen by the author to guard the social order.
