摘　　要：民族团结是社会主义民族关系的基本特征和核心内容之一。马克思主义以及以毛泽东、邓小平等为核心的各届中国共产党中央领导集体关于民族团结的主要思想,为大学生民族团结教育基本内容及主要目标的设定提供了理论依据。大学生民族团结教育的政治、思想、行为规范导向职能,调节人际关系、环境氛围职能,转变思想、行为职能和保障大学生维护民族团结作用发挥职能,集中体现了大学生民族团结教育的本质。了解大学生民族团结教育的理论依据及其职能,有助于更好地把握大学生民族团结教育的内在本质。National unity is a basic feature and a core component of the socialistic national relations.Thoughts of both Marx,and Chinese leaders of different generations about the kernel contents concerning national unity lay theoretical fundation for the university education of national unity in terms of basic contents and the design of its chief purposes.The functions concerned about the education serve as a centralized embodiment of its nature.Therefore,to understand the theoretical basis and the functions of the education can help us better grasp its intrinsic nature.
