摘　　要：由于文化背景差异，英汉语言中的恭维语之间存在较大差异。本文拟从对比英汉文化背景下中美两国人民在恭维的内容、使用场合、嘭式以及对恭维的应答方面的异同出发，阐释了解并熟悉英汉恭维语之间的异同对从事外语教学和研究以及跨文化交流的重要意义。Because of the differences of cultural backgrounds, there are some big differences in English-Chinese Compliment. The article attempts to start with the similarities and differences of compliment contents, the occasions and answers to the compliment, stating the important meaning of mastering the knowledge to carry out foreign teaching and research and cross--cultural communication
