A Case Report of Listeric Septicemia in Goat

摘　　要：In June 2009, a one-month-old male goat kid （15 lbs.） from a small flock of 20 sheep and goats with traditional management in Kerman suburbs were referred to the hospital of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Kerman University, Iran. The kid was exhibited severe depression, mild opisthotonos, incoordination, head deviation, walking in circles, ataxia, dyspnea, high fever, posterior paralysis, anorexia and passing loose, green-colored feces. For isolation of Listeria, brain tissues were plated to tryptose blood agar. Listeria monocytogenes produced a narrow zone of haemolysis. Colonies were 1 to 2 mm in diameter and appear blue-green in obliquely transmitted light on solid media such as tryptose agar.
