The variation of activity of three digestive enzymes in juvenile Trachinotus ovatus with body weight of 0.82±0.15 g was investigated under different cultural and reactive temperatures. In the first group, juveniles were acclimated at five different water temperatures(19 ℃,22 ℃,25 ℃,28 ℃ and 31 ℃) for 7 days, respectively. After starvation for 24 hours, fish samples were seleted randomly and enzyme activity were dissected at the same reactive temperature. In the second group, juveniles were acclimated at the natural temperatures of 25-26℃ for 7 days.Enzyme activity were measured at eight different reactive temperatures(15 ℃,20 ℃,25 ℃,30 ℃,35 ℃,40 ℃,45 ℃ and 50 ℃).Results showed that the enzyme activity increased with the cultural temperatures increasing and then decreased in the range from 19 to 31 ℃.The optimum cultural temperatures for protease, amylase and lipase were 28℃,25℃ and 22℃,respectively.The activity of three digestive enzymes increased with the reactive temperatures increasing and then decreased in the range from 15 to 50 ℃.The optimum reactive temperatures for protease, amylase and lipase were 40 ℃,35 ℃and 40 ℃,respectively. The optimum reactive temperatures were obviously higher than the cultural temperatures.
