摘　　要：加拿大和澳大利亚的国家形成背景及文化传统渊源有很多相似之处。加澳两国都曾是英国殖民地,秉承着相同的源自英国的人文思想和社会风尚,其英语文学均源于英国文学传统。由于加拿大和澳大利亚的地理环境和社会状况不同,伴随着从殖民拓荒到建立国家的历史进程,加拿大英语文学和澳大利亚英语文学体现出了鲜明的差异,形成了独立的国别文学,成为世界英语文学的重要组成部分,也成为国内在外国文学研究领域中的两个新的板块。As two senior colonies of Great Britain,Canada and Australia share many striking similarities in their national historical background.Canadian and Australian literary writings in English also spring from the same British roots.The differences in the geographical environment and social conditions in the two countries,however,have diversified their common inheritance,shaped the peoples and their concepts,and in time,molded the common British traditions and influences into two recognizable national cultures and respective literary patterns-Canadian literature and Australian literature.Indeed,the two literatures have become two important sections in world literature,as well as in the research field of foreign literatures in China.
