Constructiveness of Contexts for Pragmatics

摘　　要：As a discipline mainly concerning language in action or meaning in use, pragmatics, to a large extent, falls back upon various macro and micro contexts for its end due to their constructiveness in interpreting meanings, shaping utterances and motivating actions. The vital roles of contexts played in pragmatics, coupled with the ontological concerns of pragmatics, may somewhat shed light on the reasons why contexts are so important to pragmatics.
