摘　　要：女性成长小说有其独特的叙事结构模式。凯特.萧邦的代表作《觉醒》,是典型的觉醒型女性成长小说。本文在细读文本的基础上,从觉醒型女性成长小说的角度剖析《觉醒》中的主人公艾德娜的双重人格及其虚妄之梦,并探讨其独特的精神成长的后果和成因。文章指出,艾德娜婚后的觉醒使她获得了某种精神上的成长,但同时也使她不愿或不能面对现实,顽固地退隐到自己想象中的精神世界,从而走上不归路。Female Bildungsroman has its peculiar narrative pattern,and Kate Chopin's masterpiece The Awakening is characteristic of the female Bildungsroman with the narrative pattern of awakening.Based on close reading of the text,this paper analyzes the dual personality of Edna Pontellier,the protagonist of The Awakening,and the illusive nature of her dream,and further examines the cause and effect of her unique spiritual development.The paper points out that Edna's awakening after marriage not only enables her to acquire a spiritual development,but also makes her unable to confront the reality,thus causing her to stubbornly regress to her romantic dreams of passion,and finally brings about her death.
