摘　　要：城市语言调查作为社会语言学一种新的研究视角,正在近些年的社会语言学研究中发挥着日益重要的作用。在说明了城市语言调查的理论背景之后,分类介绍了其典型的研究领域,包括地方普通话的研究,语言本体与社会共变关系的研究,城市化进程中一些特殊族群的语言调查以及城市中相关言语社区的语言调查等。城市语言调查的研究方兴未艾,在社会语言学方法论和社会实践方面都具有重大意义。Urban Language Studies（ULS） is a new approach to research in sociolinguistics,which is playing a very important role in the study of sociolinguistics over recent years.After the theoretical background is introduced,different fields of ULS are studied,including the variants of Mandarin in different places;the relation between language itself and the co-variations of communities;language study of specific groups during the process of urbanization as well as the language study of specific speech communities.ULS has important methodological significance to sociolinguistic and social practice.
