摘　　要：历史文化名城常熟为文献重镇,著述家辈出,地方文献称富。《常熟乡镇旧志集成》所载现存常熟乡镇旧志20种,是了解晚清以前江南古镇社会经济状况的重要史料。Changshu,a historically and culturally renowned city,is abundant in literature and local chronicles.Collection of Changshu Village and Town Old Chronicles contains twenty kinds of local chronicles,which provide important historical sources for the better understanding of the social and economic situation in the area south of the Yangtze River before the late Qing Dynasty.
