This paper introduces the motivation for developing wind power in Denmark, the influence of wind power development on electricity industry and people's life, as well as the social and economic benefit of wind power. Economic load dispatch, power import/export and upward/downward regulation support Denmark to obtain 20% consumption shared by wind power. In order to further realize the EU "20-20-20" goal, grid infrastructure expansion, generation and consumption flexibility and smart grid development are capable of accommodate renewable energy development, especially for integrating substantial amount of wind power. Economic load dispatch with new measures is the effective way to achieve the maximization of the social and economic benefit.
