摘　　要：信息时代的大学生兴趣广泛,对周围世界的变化充满了好奇,追求新知识的欲望非常强烈,内容略显单一陈旧的英语教材已不能满足他们的交际需要,而学习内容丰富、体现时代性的网络新闻英语是提高听说能力的有效方法。为了满足学生用英语进行交际的实际需求,教师应充分利用网络新闻英语这一真实性语言素材来适应大学英语教学发展的新趋势,达到教学内容与时代同步。在此探讨了网络新闻英语在听说教学中的优势及其应用,从而激发学生学习英语的兴趣,培养他们自主学习的能力,真正提高学生英语的综合应用能力。College students in the information age have a wide range of interests and they are curious about the changes around the world. They are anxious to learn new knowledge, so the English textbooks with single and old content can＇t meet their communicative needs. Learning web-based news English is an effective way to improve listening and speaking ability in the new century. To meet the actual needs of students to communicate in English, teachers are expected to make full use of authentic web-based news so as to conform with the current new trend of college English teaching and make the teaching content keep pace with the times. The paper intends to probe into the advantages and application of web-based news English to listening and speaking teaching. Hence college students＇ interests in English learning can be stimulated, their learning autonomy can be cultivated and their overall language competence will be truly improved as well.
